Is this trip right for you?

The camping sites we stay at are clean & well-maintained.  However, staying in tents, luxuries such as cots & beds, fans etc can’t be expected. Part of the experience here is learning to be resourceful with the available facilities. Internet access is scarce and is unreliable when it’s available. But you must know that though there’s no WiFi in nature, you’ll get a stronger connection 😜This is a no-frills trip to a relatively remote place therefore food will be basic.

Things to carry

Don’t worry about packing too much or too little. Here’s just everything that you need to carry- a rucksack, a water bottle, torch, sunglasses, sunscreen, personal medicine, a pair of clothes, undergarments, socks, a towel, toilet kit, portable charger, flip-flops, hiking shoes. And, a camera to capture the memories(optional).Don’t forget to bring loads of enthusiasm 🙂

Let the adventure begin now! Hit the hiking path to reach the beautiful Akki raashi Gudda also known as Bhattada raashi gudda.  This hill is situated amidst thick jungles of Agumbe which is a part of the Someshwara Wildlife sanctuary. Well-known for the conservation efforts of King-cobra, the reserve forest is also home to lion-tailed macaques, slender loris, leopards, barking deer etc.

After the trek up the hill makes your stomach growl with hunger, head back to the campsite to have an appetising lunch. Post lunch you’ll have some  chill out time to rest & re-energise yourself for your next adventure-slush games! Once you clean yourself after the slush games, sip some garam chai & take a stroll along the surroundings of the campsite. The fort dates back to the 9th century & was the stronghold of the Nayakas, feudal kings under the Vijayanagara kingdom.
