SKANDAGIRI NIGHT TREK

Located around 70 km away from the city, Skandagiri is one of the most popular night trekking places near Bangalore.

Undoubtedly, Skandagiri is one of the most popular & most-treaded trekking place near Bangalore. Being very close to Bangalore & having one of the best sunrise views from its peak, Skandagiri is a place not be missed by trekkers & adventure lovers in Bangalore. It is also known as Kalvaradurga. Apart from the sunrise view the other highlight of this night trek is the ancient fort on top of the hill which is said to be built by Tippu Sultan to fight against the British. There is a small village at the base of the hill named Kalavara & hence the other name to the hill Kalavaradurga. A temple at the base of the hill known as Paapagni Mutt is a religiously significant place for the locals & is said to be one of the oldest 'mutts' in Karnataka. Most of the trekkers who come to Skandagiri do a night trek so that they can be here by the time of dawn & behold the beauty of the bewitching sunrise here.
